Truliant Credit Union employees recently held a collection drive for layette items, supporting Outreach Alliance for Babies, at their headquarters.
Renee Shipko, Community Engagement Supervisor of Truliant Federal Credit Union, delivered a collection of 61 baby items to the Triad Dream Center for the Outreach Alliance for Babies program, along with a check in the amount of $239. The $239 donated represents nearly one month of supplies that will be used to assemble over 20 layette bags.
Outreach Alliance for Babies (OAfB) began in 2005 as a grassroots 501C(3) organization supporting the community’s commitment to decrease infant mortality and promote child development and safety. They provide clothing, a Safe Sleep Kit, and other necessities to families facing economic challenges by partnering with local agencies. Since inception, they have provided for over 3,000 babies. In June 2015, OAfB merged with the Triad Dream Center in an effort to better serve the community.
OAfB has served a total of 236 families this year through our partnership with 11 other agencies. Our partner agencies provide parenting classes which includes special safe sleep training to new mothers in our local community.
Items we need include:
- Size 2 diapers

- Unscented baby wipes,
- Undershirts, onesies and sleep sets,
- Flannel receiving blankets,
